Tuesday Tidbit: A People Lesson

Last Friday, Bea and I got a chance to do something good for others.  Our church asked for volunteers to be "Hosts" for homeless families for one night.  Evidently Parkway Methodist Church takes a rotation once every few months and hosts families for a week.  I signed us up without knowing the details-- Why not?

I let Bea know that we were going to spend an evening at the church helping out and her first reaction was one of apprehension and questions.  All I could do is assure her of our safety and that we might learn a good lesson about homeless people. When we arrived we met the families in the program, they were kind and were so grateful of the program and the church.  We went to bed that night a little more humble and our hearts open to the needs of others.  A lesson Bea will never forget.
